This is the number no rota will give you. It does not say those five are struggling - it says what happens the day one of them moves away.
There is nothing to enter here: everything is derived from the assignments, skills and unavailabilities already recorded. A table you had to keep by hand would be wrong within three weeks.
The six signals and their thresholds - six weeks of silence, more than 60% of weeks, less than three months - are the ones in the code, as is the share held by the top five. People and figures are examples.

The argument

How many people does your church actually rest on?

The question sounds abstract until the day the answer is five, and one of the five moves away. The number exists, and it works itself out.

The percentage of serving done by five people. Above half, your church is fragile - and does not know it.
Who serves more than 60% of weeks
That is the threshold used. Beyond it, this is not serving any more, it is a post - and nobody offered it as one.

How many times over the period, since when, and at what cadence. You see the load before commenting on it.

The ones you do not see

A rota shows who is present, never who left

Someone who served every month drops off the list, and nothing happens. Six weeks later they assume they were no longer needed.

Six weeks of silence
The threshold is written down: served regularly, nothing for six weeks. Long enough not to panic over a holiday, short enough to act.
The first three months
Someone who starts serving is flagged as new. That is when a word counts, not six months later.
Offers with no reply
An assignment offered and never confirmed stays visible. You chase the offer, not the person.
Why it holds

Nothing to enter, and nothing deciding for you

Every volunteer spreadsheet ends up abandoned, for the same reason: someone has to keep it. This one fills itself - and it stops there.

Derived, not typed
The figures come from assignments, skills and unavailabilities already recorded. As soon as someone is proposed, they appear.
No automatic allocation
The screen does not suggest who to put where. A suggestion always ends up accepted out of tiredness, and that is no way to entrust a service.
No reminder sent behind your back
"Asked, never came: to understand, not to chase" - it is written in the code. The gesture stays human.

What this module does, and what it does not

A short list beats a broad promise. Here are both, without rounding.

What it does
  • Tell you how many people your church actually rests on.
  • Flag who serves more than 60% of weeks, and who has not served for six weeks.
  • Distinguish newcomers and offers left without a reply.
  • Fill itself from what the rota already records.
What it does not do
  • It allocates nobody automatically: the screen shows what to decide on, it does not decide.
  • It sends no reminder on your behalf. The gesture towards someone drifting away stays yours.
  • It judges nobody: a low count can be a season of life, not a lack of commitment.
